Welcome to Consumer Education!
Hi Everyone! This website is a place where you can find out more information about our Consumer Ed. class. It also provides a means for communicating with me, collaborating with your classmates, and working on and posting some of your various assignments. I'm excited to have each one of you in my class this trimester and I look forward to spending time with you! I hope we have a great time as we seek to develop our financial knowledge and skills! I'm excited to be your teacher and I expect to learn a lot from you as well! :) Please never be afraid to ask for help; that is why I am here. Let's have a blast this trimester!

In this class, we are going to examine our attitudes about money, as well as learn proper and responsible ways to handle our money. Check out this SNL skit called "Don't Buy Stuff", which humorously - yet, unfortunately - quite accurately depicts the typical-American, rather irresponsible approach to finances. Then, check out how the average American actually does spend their money, according to the U.S. Dept. of Labor, looking at the the diagram below from visualeconomics.com.
